5 Delicious Cocktails for Home Entertaining

Planning a get-together involves planning, cooking, and serving up some great drinks. Having cocktails at your get together is a sure way to please your guests, but if you want to impress your friends and loved ones with your bartending skills, you’ll want to serve some delicious classic cocktail recipes to please the crowd. Here is a list of five cocktails that are simple to mix and delicious to sip:

1. Moscow mule

A moscow mule is the perfect mixture of spicy and sweet. To make this cocktail you will need vodka, ginger beer and fresh lime. The ginger beer is the main event for this drink. Any half-decent vodka will taste fine with this drink. Here are some ginger beers that will take your cocktail to the next level. Barritt’s ginger beer is a great ginger beer for this cocktail. Fever-Tree ginger beer uses three different types of ginger from India, Cochin, Ivory Coast and Nigeria. The combination of different gingers provides it with the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. You will need 2 ounces of vodka, half of a fresh lime and 4 ounces of a ginger beer. Mix these ingredients in a copper mug or similar-sized glass with ice, Gently mix with a spoon and enjoy.

2. Whiskey sour

Making a whiskey sour cocktail will require 1 ½ of an ounce of whiskey, 1 ½ of an ounce of lemon juice, ¾ of an ounce of simple syrup and a maraschino cherry or lemon peel as a garnish. For this cocktail, you can make your own simple syrup or purchase it online. Make sure to use fresh lemon juice, it will be the perfect combination of tart and sweet. You will first fill your cocktail shaker with ice, and then, pour in whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup and shake well. You can pour your cocktail into a sour glass or a regular glass with ice. Garnish with a cherry or a twist of lemon.

3. Cosmopolitan

For your Cosmopolitan cocktail, you will need 2 ounces of vodka, ½ ounce of Cointreau or triple sec, ½ an ounce of Rose’s lime or fresh lime juice, 1 ounce of cranberry juice and lemon twists as a garnish. This cocktail doesn’t require any special type of vodka, Any half-decent vodka will do. Rose’s sweetened lime is requested for this drink because of its sweetness, but you can experiment with fresh lime juice. Bottled cranberry juice is perfect for this drink because of its fruity flavor, but once again you can experiment with fresh cranberry juice, but it may make your cocktail too tart. Once you’ve gathered all your ingredients, fill a cocktail shaker with ice, mix in ingredients, Shakewell, strain and garnish with a lemon twist.

4. Gin and tonic

A great tasting gin and tonic is made with a high-quality gin. You will need 2 ounces of gin, 4 to 5 ounces of tonic water and a lime wedge for garnish. First, fill your highball glass or similar glass with ice, pour in your gin, and then pour in your tonic and stir well. Use a lime wedge as a garnish and enjoy!

5. Bloody Mary

A Bloody Mary cocktail is a mix of several ingredients, resulting in a spicy tomato-based juice cocktail. You will need 2 ounces of tomato juice, 1 1/2 ounces of vodka, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 3/4 of a teaspoon of freshly grated horseradish, 3 dashes of hot pepper sauce, 1 pinch of salt, 1 dash of freshly grounded black pepper, 1/4 of a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice, and add 1 celery stalk or lemon as a garnish. Fill a highball glass or similar glass with all of the following ingredients except the lemon juice, pour in ice and then pour the mixture into a second glass. Pour the mixture back and forth between glasses 3 to 4 times. Sprinkle in lemon juice and garnish with a celery stalk or lemon wedge.
